Oh the way they morph into the next section! I can’t call them tracks. Phew. They sound even better to me now than they did when I first heard them late 1970s-early 1980s. At some point they just lost it when they became a tiny bit too tuneful, a tiny bit too formulaic. This kind of music is a tightrope walk, easy to fall off. They managed it just long enough for this stuff. Eventually you fall off!

I’d love to have heard this live. They should have moved to Sheffield England, this is steel town blues, white trash version. Hat-tip.

I bought Alien Soundtracks on a whim, more for the artwork and song titles than anything. In those days you could listen to a track or two in the record shop, so within a couple of seconds of tv as eyes I was sold. Half Machine Lips Move, a year or so later just did my head in. There's never been anything like this.

I love the sound. Like its been recorded on an old cassette players condenser mic. The amount of hours i spent with the 5 band eq settings for certain tapes was as intense as the music back before any real fidelity of sound was taken for granted. The world was a mysterious wasteland.Good times
